JAPANESE SWORD COVER

Recently, I was asked to make some covers for some Japanese swords.  I immediately thought that it was time to try Sashiko (What was I thinking?).  It's been a time-consuming event for sure.  I've been stitching on and off for weeks just to make the base with which to continue on with my project.  I'm not finished yet, but I'll persevere.

This is just under a half metre of fabric.

Here's a closer look.

  1. Beautiful work. I noticed it on the table on Wed evening but got distracted and didn't say anything. I have done one piece in Sashiko. I have a friend who taught a workshop at one of my guilds. I am still thinking of what to make it into.
    Time consuming but very relaxing.
I am interested in seeing the finished piece.
