GREENS THE THING

A recent Group of Eight challenge was to try to make a piece of art using only monochromatic colours, meaning using only one colour or shade of one colour.  Since I love blue, I tend to use a lot of it, but I looked at my stash of fabrics and found that I had many different greens.  This time I went out on a limb and tried to use green as my base colour.  This piece has over 50 different greens.

THREADWORKS 2013

After a long and drawn out process, I finally have my new hard drive installed.  Yippee!!!

Was I ever excited to hear the news that "Bubbles" was accepted into the juried exhibition of needle arts "Threadworks 2013" show.

Bubbles is representative of the summer times spent walking along the Georgian Bay shoreline.  The deep blue waters roll onto the sand causing millions of bubbles, reflecting glistening sunlight.  This piece is machine quilted, embellished, embroidered, and beaded.

The show takes place April 20 - June 9, at the Wellington County Museum & Archives.  I do hope that you take the time to visit the show.
