About Me

Judy Makinson: While appreciating traditional patchwork, I am currently experimenting with a variety of mixed media and fibre arts. My passion is playing with fabric and free motion stitching, where the use of variegated threads creates rich textures to enhance my designs. I am a member of the Halton Hills Quilters’ Guild, as well as a member of the Group of Eight Fibre Artists and Burlington Art Centre Fibre Arts Group. Like many mixed-media fibre artists, I collect many interesting fibres that may eventually be used in my work. I love what I do but sometimes wish that I could turn off my “creative brain”, however I wouldn’t really have it any other way.
